Main fleet stayed back a jump so as not to alert the locals. No further resistance was incurred in transit, and soon our Rorqual was happily mining in a Medium Bistot signature in I1Y. The wormhole threat dealt with, and our capitals safely installed in P4-, we were finally ready to make our push on Brave staging. In retrospect, a better call would have been to test the tank of the Bhaalgorn, as we likely could have pushed through reps given it's poor mitigation and secured additional kills. As more and more of our capitals joined the field, they de-aggressed and left the field through the W-IX gate just as their logi began to break. We then went to work on their three Guardians, reducing their cap with our neut Geddons. Our fleet arrived on field shortly after, and hard tackled a Tengu away from their fleet. Our friendly wormholers sensed that there might be a weakness to exploit (I guess they don't know us very well), and as we were moving our fleet to support, they brought a mixed T3C gang with Guardian and Bhaalgorn support.

Immediately upon entering their pocket, we encountered a vigorous defense from the Horde's signature Ferox fleet on the OGY gate: In gratitude, we passed along intel about the valuable roids, and left, searching for Zydrine instead in Pandemic Horde's home of UVHO. All seemed lost until Phoebe Freeport Republic saw off the villains.
Initially, we headed for a rich band of Prismatic Ochre roids near a freeport in 1m4, but a small group of deadly pirates belonging to Broski North quickly tackled our Rorqual. Battleships were chosen due to their extremely generous mining drone bays, combined with the ability to firmly assert dominance over any pirates who care to interrupt our industrial activities. Ben Booley in his Norther Army loaner Rorqual lead the charge, with the rest of the fleet in armor battleships supported by two Guardians. With this in mind, Friday saw us launch our first ever formal Mining Operation. Querious is no exception, and Rote Kapelle has had difficulties securing a significant supply of the Green Gold. Many have gone mad searching for the rare geodes that contain these dark green crystal-like growths, and all concede their supply is a cruicial bottleneck in advanced ship construction across the New Eden cluster.
